After you’ve completed your lovely housing estates the time comes to name the streets.

I’m begging you, STOP WITH THE TREES!  We have enough Willow Drives, Beech Avenues and Hawthorne Roads.  Entire estates where the roads are named after types of trees. Yes, I know that it’s Friday afternoon, you already have a well worn list of trees and you want to make your soulless estate full of carbon copy houses sound attractive, but enough is enough.

I’m sure that with a few minutes of research on The Internet you could come-up with a few more lists. How about dinosaurs? It would be awesome to live on Triceratops Road. Or ‘Things that live under the sea’? I would love to have Shark Avenue or even Octopus Gardens as my address.

So come-on Housing Estate Developers, I’m literally on my knees here (in a figurative way), try to come up with something that’s original.

This story sums up one of the things that really irritates me about religion. It’s OK for them be intolerant, but it’s definitely not OK for others to be intolerant of their intolerance.

I really don’t understand why a group’s interpretation of an ancient text demands automatic respect considering that:

1. Others have interpreted the same text in a completely different way
2. The majority of us wouldn’t accept a political group with the same views, and
3. It’s just plain wrong.

Being gay isn’t morally wrong, just as being black or being a woman isn’t. Bringing a child up to believe otherwise, however, surely is.

Well, I didn’t get any work done on my Super Secret Project, but I did manage to tweak some piccies and clean out the inside of my pooter.  The difference is quite astounding. It’s gone from jet-engine noisy to whisper quiet.  Poor thing must have been working overtime trying to keep itself cool inside. I feel quite guilty about it actually.

The other big news of the day is that I’ve applied for a new job! It’s very different from what I’m doing at the moment but similar to what I’ve done in the past. I’m not going to go into specifics right now – but if anything comes of it I’ll let you know.

Right, off I go!

So here’s the plan for tomorrow:

1. Tweak some more photographs
2. Work some more on my Super Secret Masterpiece
3. Maybe open up my computer and clear out some of the accumulated crap that is no doubt clogging-up its insides. It has been tending to overheat and shut down at inopportune moments of late.

Oh, one thing I did today was create a new alarm for my phone using Audacity; so not a complete waste of a day. Here it is:  Wakey Wakey Alarm

I had a nasty scare after I’d done it though – for some reason straight after I’d transferred it over, my phone kept freezing. I tried pulling the battery and restarting it but it kept doing it. “Oh Poo!” thought I.  Now the thing is I’ve just flashed a new ROM onto my phone (CyanogenMod – which is totally awesomely amazingly cool on toast!) and I thought that might have buggered it. But no, I just whipped out the SD card and whacked it back in again and everything seems fine now – hang on, what that smell of burning plastic and electronic components?  No just kidding, everything’s fine.

Damn it Janet! I spoke too soon! Just spent the last hour trying to sort it out – eventually had to take everything off the SD card, format it and start again.  NOW it seems to be working OK.

Oh fliup me! You know what I’ve blinkin’ done and done now don’t you? I’ve only gone and started a brand new flippin’ blog haven’t I? What the flippin’ heck did I go and do that for? You know how this is going to end, don’t you? It’s going to be another (strike me with a match I need a simile – hang on I’ll go and have a fag and see if I can think of one – back in a minute or three). Damn! I didn’t think of a simile (TBQH I forgot what I was saying but that’s hardly surprising considering that I’m ever so slightly sloshed, as I may have previously mentioned) I did see a fox though – just ran across the back garden it did and looked at me as if to say “WTF?? It’s 3am. Why are you coming outside at this time of a day for?” So that was pretty cool and more than makes up for not being able to think of a simile about how this here blog that I started on a drunken whim is going to crash and burn like a crashy burny Zeppelin type thing.

Anyway. So that’s that. It’s three am in the morningtide, I’m on someone else’s computerator and I’ve started another blog and I have actually managed to figure out how exactly to lock their back door.   On that note I bid thee night-night internetty type world and I sincerely wish you sweet dreams.
